August was a good month for Mollywood. All the big releases were open to positive response and are doing good in terms of collection. Makers of all films are using innovative methods to attract viewers to theatres. Meanwhile, a silent war is taking place between Annmaria Kalippilaanu and Marubhoomiyile Aana.
Facebook is witnessing an unusual poster war between Annmaria and Marubhoomiyile Aana. It all started with Marubhoomiyile Aana team releasing a poster with the tagline translated as “ Dude! Grab a seat for this film..There is no ‘Kalipp’ (anger) in this”. It was clear that they were aiming ‘Annmaria Kalippilaanu’ with this poster. Latter’s team responded with a reply poster saying “ Conquered Kerala without ‘Aana’ (elephant) “. Several posters were released later from both sides aiming each other through sarcasm.
‘Ann Maria Kalippilaanu’ is the second directorial venture of Midhun Manuel Thomas. His first was ‘Aadu Oru Bheekarajeeviyanu’. The family entertainer was released on 5th August and is running successfully in the theatres. Baby Sara Arjun of ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ fame plays the central character. Sunny Wayne, Aju Varghese, Siddique, Dharmajan etc. forms rest of the cast.
‘Marubhoomiyile Aana’ directed by VK Prakash is a comedy entertainer with Biju Menon in the lead. The film released on August 12th is receiving mixed response from the viewers. Samskruthy Shenoy, Krishna Sankar, Balu Varghese etc forms rest of the cast.
