Dileep and Kavya Madhavan pair, once Malayali’s favourite onscreen duo, is making a comeback through Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Pinneyum. This will be the 12th feature film of the legendary director and his comeback after a break of 8 years from the industry. He is known to make films after long gaps but it is the first time he is taking a gap of 8 years.The film will hit the theatres on August 18’th.
In an interview given to a newspaper Adoor said that he had completed the shoot of Pinneyum in a record number of 23 days largely because “I had planned everything to the last, most minute detail… I cannot afford to waste time, because film production is very expensive these days. It cost me Rs 2 lakhs for each day of the shoot. There is nothing called a small-budget movie anymore…”
Dileep-Kavya reunites after a span of 6 years, their last was Paappi Apacha in 2010. The movie is said to be an intense love story in which Dileep plays Purushothaman and Kavya plays his wife, Devi. Marathi actor Subodh Bhave, Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Indrans, Nandu, KPAC Lalitha and Srinda Ashab include the cast.
MJ Radhakrishnan is the cinematographer and B Ajithkumar handles the editing. Kukku Parameshwaran is the production designer. Pinneyum is produced by Baby Mathew Somatheeram and Adoor Gopalakrishnan, himself.
