‘Munroe Thuruth’, a film written, produced and directed by Manu and distributed by Aashiq Abu, will hit the theatres on September 30th. The 92 minutes film has won several awards till now and has got great response from the critics.
Munroe Island Thuruth is about about troubled men in a perfect home with an attractive, largely silent maid Kathu.
“This film on the insignificane of personal convictions always existed in me. And I thought the best way to screen it is to live it. It was easy in the beginning., tough in the middle; now it has become almost impossible. So I wrote the script and showed it to some of my firends. Chasing producers is dehumanizing by nature and I has enough of it. I asked my friends : should I sell some property make this film? All of them mercilessly said yes.
There is an actual Munroe Island near my home. Reports say it is slowly sinking. My island is also sinking; differently. Living in a sinking island couled be familiar for those who want truly close relationships to win every war. May be that’s why my friends wanted the film. And their commitment is the secret of its materialization. This is not the story of a grandfather and his grandson. This is my premise of uncertainty” says the director.
Indrans does the central character of grandfather and Jason Chacko comes as his grandson. Abhija Sivakala is the maid. Alencier Ley, Anil Nedumangadu, Vava Kottarakkara and Panayam Rajan comes in important roles.
Pratap P Nair handles the camera and Manoj Kannoth does the editing. Music is by Subramanian K Vaidyalingan, Dawn Vincent and Ashok T Ponnappan. Pramod J Thomas does the sound design and final mix.
