Oppam Looks Like A Far Better Version Of Taken : Ram Gopal Varma

Mohanlal-Priyadarshan combo’s upcoming film ‘Oppam’ is all set to hit the silver screens on 8th of this month. The film’s trailer, edited by Alphonse Puthren, and songs are getting a great reception from the audience. Oppam is said to be a crime thriller in which Mohanlal plays a blind man named Jayaraman. Baby Meenakshi is also playing an important role in the film along with him.

Recently, director Ram Gopal Varma shared Oppam’s trailer stating that it looks like a far better version of Taken. Taken is a famous Hollywood action thriller which has been already remade into so many languages legally and illegally.

Priyadarshan has already told in many interviews that Oppam will be different from any films released so far. Replying to RGV’s statement he said “ Ramu (RGV) basically is man of thrillers. Statement from him as a person who makes thriller films is like an appreciation for me. If a list of best thriller films are looked at, then Taken series will top the list. RGV feels that Oppam’s trailer is looking better than those. That’s a credit for me. I take his opinion in a positive manner. RGV and me are close friends for years. This is a great encouragement for me.”

Mohanlal has acted in two movies of Ram Gopal Varma, Company and Aag. He got the IIFA award for his performance in Company. Mohanlal, according to RGV, is the Robert De Niro of Indian Cinema.
