Dulquer Salmaan and Bejoy Nambiar are two Malayalis whose fanbase extends outside Kerala. While the young star Dulquer has fans following him in all over South India, director Bejoy Nambiar is more popular among the Bollywood audience. Even though a Malayali, Bejoy has never done a feature film in Mollywood. Now according to the latest reports, Bejoy Nambiar is making his directorial debut in his mother tongue with Dulquer in the lead.
Bejoy Nambiar shot into fame with his critically acclaimed short films, Rahu and Reflections. Later he made his debut in Bollywood with the thriller Shaitan in 2011, which was produced by Anurag Kashyap, followed by David and Wazir. The director confirmed the news and said in a media interview “Yes, my next film will be in Malayalam. It has been my dream to do a film in my mother tongue since a few years. Now, I am ready with the project. Dulquer Salmaan will be the lead.”
The film is expected to start rolling from October, after Dulquer completes the Sathyan Anthikad movie ‘Jomonte Suvisheshangal’. The film is yet to be titled and will be produced by the director himself under his banner Getaway film in association with Abaam films. The makers are still deciding the cast of the film. The film will be something new for the Malayalam audience as told by the director.
