Hospitals, especially those in the hardest hit states of the coronavirus pandemic, may close due to lack of financial support and other problems.
Without support, hospitals may cease operations within a few weeks, TASS reports citing The Washington Post.
The leadership of the American Association of Hospitals reported that the government called for giving priority to the allocation of resources of medical facilities infected with coronavirus, while non-urgent operations bring profit.
In addition, hospitals face difficulties in purchasing important items, such as additional hospital beds or protective equipment. New purchases have to be made constantly, but they cannot be purchased on credit.
