Money from the stabilization fund created by the Government of Ukraine will be directed to additional payments to medical and other workers who are directly involved in the fight against coronavirus disease; assistance to pensioners; payments to Ukrainians who lost their jobs due to the spread of the disease and anti-epidemic measures; as well as to help domestic business, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has completed the preliminary preparation of amendments to the state budget for 2020. This was announced today in his Telegram by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
“We completed the preliminary work on changes to the state budget. It was a difficult process, but this is what difficult times require. As a result, no matter what, the costs of infrastructure, development, culture and education have been saved,” Shmygal emphasized.
He noted that the costs of the stabilization fund will be directed to people, namely:
“Additional payments to medical and other workers who are directly involved in the fight against coronavirus disease; financial assistance to pensioners; payments to Ukrainians who lost their jobs due to the spread of the disease and anti-epidemic measures; providing financial assistance to domestic business,” the Ukrainian Prime Minister emphasized.
The Cabinet of Ministers insists on revising the state budget for 2020, but, according to media reports, has not yet been able to convince MPs to support the changes.
On March 25, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to increase the amount of subsidies during the quarantine announced in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. According to Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, on average, the subsidy will increase by 300 UAH. In addition, the government promised subsidies to Ukrainians who lost their jobs due to quarantine.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has announced an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, it will be dedicated to “protecting the economy” against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic. The agenda for the session has not yet been published.
The source of the publication “GORDON” in the apparatus of the Rada said that among the main issues of the session was the revision of the budget and the creation of a stabilization fund. The land market will not be discussed.
