As of April 20, coronavirus was confirmed in 200,210 residents of Spain, 20,852 of them died, and 80,587 were cured, the country’s ministry of health said.
In Spain, daily mortality from coronavirus continues to decline, over the past 24 hours, according to the country’s Ministry of Health, 399 people have died from the infection.
The total number of deaths from coronavirus, thus, increased to 20 852.
The highest daily mortality from infection was recorded on April 2 – 950 people. The last allotment in the country there is a significant decrease in the number of deaths: on April 19, the Ministry of Health reported 410 deaths per day, before 565, 585, 551 and 523.
In general, coronavirus was confirmed in 200 210 inhabitants of Spain (+4266 to the previous day), of which 80 587 have already been cured. Highest number of infected – in the provinces of Madrid (56 963) and Catalonia (41 676).
Mortality from coronavirus in Spain is 10.5%.
Spain has a state of emergency. The mitigation of severe restrictive measures will begin on April 27, declared in a televised address on April 18, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. So, children will be allowed walks accompanied by adults, and from May 11, a “cautious but steady” removal of quarantine will begin, he said.

According to the American Johns Hopkins University, more than 2.4 million people became infected with the world’s coronavirus, 165 thousand of them died, 632 thousand were cured. Spain ranks second in the world in the number of infected and third – by number dead from COVID-19.
