Russian politician, former mayor of Yekaterinburg Yevgeny Roizman in Interview with Dmitry Gordon, founder of the GORDON publication, criticized Vladislav Surkov, a former presidential aide, and said he considered him a “ghoul.”
Gordon asked why Roizman and Surkov had a falling out.
“Firstly, I didn’t quarrel with him. I talked to him once in my life over the phone. And I’ll tell you honestly: I consider Surkov a ghoul. Just a ghoul. Where Surkov is, there is blood, dirt, murders and everything, what follows from here, ” – said Roizman.
He noted that Surkov played a large role in the history of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
“This is an evil and scary person who played a huge role in this whole story. I have my own attitude towards him. There are no illusions. I say it out loud and do not hide it,” – said the politician.
In addition, according to him, it was Surkov who initiated the reduction of powers to the local self-government in Russia.
“I’m certainly grateful[tothePresidentoftheRF1991[tothePresidentoftheRF1991[президентуРФв1991[президентуРФв1991–1999 to Boris]Yeltsin that gave the opportunity to breathe local government. Here to Surkov. Because it is precisely the Surkovian story that began – the struggle with powerful mayors. They broke the configurations of city councils, elections … Although, in fact, I believe that this was the desire to get to the last large assets that remained from the Soviet government. These are the assets of million-plus cities, ” – said the ex-mayor of Yekaterinburg.
