As of March 20, 253 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Russia.
Over the past day, 54 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in Russia, reports “Jellyfish” with reference to the data of the operational headquarters.
New cases are recorded in nine regions. The largest number of newly ill cases is in Moscow (33 people).
Seven people recovered and were discharged from hospitals (four in Moscow, three in the Lipetsk region).
Thus, by March 20, 253 cases of the disease were registered in Russia, 12 people recovered. No deaths from coronavirus in the Russian Federation. A woman with confirmed coronavirus infection died in Moscow the day before, however, she is not included in the statistics: according to authorities, the cause of death was a detached blood clot, not COVID-19.
The website of the Russian Ministry of Health reports that as of March 19, 133 thousand tests for coronavirus were conducted in the country.
An outbreak of COVID-19 coronavirus infection began in December 2019 in China. March 11, the World Health Organization announced the spread of coronavirus pandemic. According to WHO data, on March 19, 209 839 people were infected with coronavirus in more than 160 countries, 8778 people died.
