Since April 2, rescuers in the United States have been searching for the granddaughter of American Senator Robert Kennedy Maeve Kennedy Townsend Mackin and her eight-year-old son Gideon – they went missing trying to get the ball out of the waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
In the United States on the evening of April 6, rescuers discovered the body of the granddaughter of US Senator Robert Kennedy and the great-granddaughter of the 35th President John F. Kennedy Maeve Kennedy Townsend Mackin, who went missing with her eight-year-old son Gideon in the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. This was reported by CBS.
Woman with her son on April 2 jumped into a canoe to get a ball thrown into the bay, however, due to the strong current, they could not get ashore.
State police and rescuers organized a rescue operation, which subsequently went into the search for the bodies of the dead. On March 3, the coast guard reported an oar and an inverted canoe.
Mackin’s body was discovered off the coast of the bay on the evening of April 6. The boy’s body has not yet been found.
The woman left her husband and two children: seven-year-old Gabriella and Toby, who is 2.5 years old.
A series of tragedies haunted the Kennedy clan for many years. Robert Kennedy died in 1968 as a result of an attempt, in 1963 his brother, President John F. Kennedy, was killed. Their brother Joseph Kennedy, Jr. died in the Second World War, and sister Kathleen – in a plane crash in 1948. The son of the president, John F. Kennedy, Jr. died in 1999: his plane, which also had a wife and her sister on board, crashed in the sky over the Atlantic.
On August 1, 2019, 22-year-old Sirsha Kennedy Hill, who was the granddaughter of Robert Kennedy, probably died as a result of an overdose of drugs.
