Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal spoke about the creation of a state stabilization fund for social benefits and business support for the period of the coronavirus infection epidemic. In his opinion, Ukraine is more prepared for a possible crisis than in 2008.
The stabilization fund of the state, designed to help Ukraine pass through the economic crisis associated with the coronavirus epidemic without shocks, will be about 200 billion UAH. This evening, March 23, on the air of the Freedom of Speech program on ICTV, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said.
“We are creating a stabilization fund of the state, its size will be about 200 billion hryvnias. This will be absolutely enough to provide pensioners, those who today will need help due to job loss,” Shmygal emphasized.
He recalled that at the moment the country stopped transport, interregional communication, most of the small and medium-sized businesses are not working.
“The state should support these people and this business, and the state has the resources for this,” the prime minister said.
According to Shmygal, an expert strategic council will soon be created, which will work out solutions with the aim of painlessly resolving the economic crisis.
He added that Ukraine is more prepared for a possible crisis than in 2008.
