In general, from the onset of the epidemic, coronavirus was detected in 39 673 inhabitants of Spain, 3794 of them have already been cured, and 2636 are in the intensive care unit.
The largest number of patients is still in the province of Madrid – 12 352 (of which 1535 died).
Fernando Simon, head of the Health Emergency Center, said at a briefing that the Spanish system Health care is going through a difficult week.

Simon said that almost 5,400 medical workers were infected with coronavirus in the country, which amounts to 13.6% of the total number of cases.

The WHO noted that in most cases the disease is characterized by a mild course and ends in recovery.
