Italy takes the first place in the world in the number of deaths from COVID-19 – 5,476 people have already died there.
As of the morning of March 23, the number of people infected with coronavirus worldwide is 339,041. This is evidenced by data from Johns Hopkins University, which tracks the spread of the disease.
The total number of deaths from COVID-19 reached 14 705, cured – 98 799.
In China, where the new coronavirus began to spread, 81,439 people were infected, 3,274 died, 72,814 were already cured.
In Italy, COVID-19 contracted 59,138 people, 5,476 died, 7,024 recovered.
In the third place is the United States with 35,211 sick and 470 deaths, in the fourth – Spain, where 28,768 people fell ill, died 1,772.
In Ukraine, as of 22.30 on March 22 confirmed 73 cases of infection coronavirus. Three people died, one was cured.
