President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that the government will fight the increase in prices for products that grow in quarantine due to coronavirus. He announced this in a video message, which was shown on March 26 by ZIK.
“We will do everything to prevent the price increase for groceries and essential goods in the regions. Since appeals to the conscience of some sellers did not help, there will be a package of tough measures that will ruin the plans for all speculators,” Zelensky said.
He emphasized that he was not in a “vacuum of capital problems”, and promised to take care of every region of Ukraine.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on March 25 introduced an emergency regime throughout the country and extended the quarantine until April 24 as part of measures to counter the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19. Amid quarantine measures, prices for a number of products, including buckwheat, increased.
